ATTO Live → IRL streaming without a PC
Most IRL streaming guides assume you own a gaming PC, know OBS, and are willing to spend four figures on a bonded backpack. None of that is actually required. Here's what the routes are, honestly, including where each one falls down.

The short version. There are three ways to IRL stream, and only two of them work without a PC. Direct mobile streaming can be a simple starting point; available features and recovery depend on the app and platform. A relay still needs OBS running on your own PC for production; the August 2026 comparison listed relay services at about $10/month. Full cloud production runs production on a server, with your phone supplying the camera feed; ATTO has a free tier, with Starter at $19.99/month while a founding spot is available ($25/month standard), while the dated comparison below lists other providers.

The Twitch mobile app provides a direct phone-streaming route, subject to current account and app requirements. Check its current streaming controls before your first broadcast.
Direct mobile streaming has fewer production controls than a separate studio. A network interruption can interrupt the broadcast; reconnection, viewer delivery and VOD handling depend on the app and platform. Verify the behavior with a short test.
Your phone sends video through a compatible protocol to a relay server, which forwards it to OBS on your PC. OBS handles production and sends the output to your platform. Protocol recovery and backup scenes can reduce disruption, but do not guarantee continuous delivery.
The August 2026 comparison listed BELABOX Cloud and IRLServer at about $10/month. This route requires a PC that stays on and online, plus OBS configuration. It does not solve the no-PC requirement.
A cloud server receives your phone's feed, runs the supported scenes and overlays, and sends the produced stream to your platform. Some services support backup scenes during camera interruptions. Your phone supplies the camera feed; the studio and platform still need setup.
The August 2026 comparison listed IRLToolkit from $129/month and IRLKIT from $29.99. ATTO Live has Free and Starter launch plans, with eligible founding Starter at $19.99/month and standard Starter at $25/month. The trade-off inside this category is how much OBS you're expected to know. Most providers give you a cloud OBS window — the same software, on their machine, with all its scenes and audio routing. A smaller number, ours included, hand you a broadcast that's already assembled.
Phone streaming with cloud production does not require a PC or dedicated backpack encoder. Additional hardware may help some productions, but does not guarantee uninterrupted delivery.
The most common way a first IRL stream fails isn't a crash — it's a stream that looks completely fine to you while your viewers see nothing. A muted audio source, a camera that never attached, a broadcast that's encoding locally but never reaching Twitch. Your phone shows a healthy green indicator the whole time and you conclude nobody watched.
When you're evaluating any service, ask what it shows you about what your viewers actually see, not just whether your upload is working. It's the difference between a bad first stream and quitting.
SRT supports retransmission of lost packets within its configured latency. SRTLA can distribute traffic across multiple available connections when the app and encoder support it. These tools can reduce disruption on unstable links; they do not guarantee uninterrupted streaming. Select a protocol supported by your app and studio.
Not from the Twitch app. Some cloud production plans support simulcasting. The August 2026 comparison listed IRLToolkit with 2 destinations on Standard and 5 on Advanced, and IRLKIT with multiple destinations on both tiers; verify current limits directly. ATTO Free and Starter support one destination; Plus and Pro are not available at launch. See the comparison.
Roughly 2 GB per hour at 720p30 and 4500 Kbps, and about 2.7 GB per hour at 1080p60 and 6000 Kbps. Genuinely unlimited mobile data matters more than anything else you could buy.
Only for the relay route, or for cloud providers who hand you an OBS window. ATTO Free and Starter use guided cloud production controls without remote OBS access. If you also capture a desktop with OBS, you still configure its server URL and stream key.
